Left or Right?

I have heard that left handers have a shorter life span than right handers. I have also heard that if you gear your child to using the hand opposite than the one that they naturally use (like if they are left handed natrually, but you try to make them right handed) that it can alter their personality from what it was suposed to be becuase of the connection between our hands and our right and left brains.

Has anyone had experience with this? Are there any lefties out there that are glad they are left handed? This world is made for righties.

Cleaning Takes on a Whole New Meaning

I'm finding out that even though I'm at home most of the time, that it is actually harder to keep the house clean while taking care of a baby than when I was working full-time! I get so little done when I'm are feeding/playing with a baby every few hours.

I never knew it would be so challenging to take care of a house and a baby at the same time! Laurdry usually takes a day or two, and cleaning spread out over about 3 days at least. And when it's all done, it's ready to be done again!

Funny how things change.

Baby Food Recipies Anyone?

I have heard that homemade baby food is better for babies than what comes in the jars.

Does anyone have any experience with this? Is it difficult? Does anyone have any successful recipies to share with everyone in baby blogger world?

It's Hard to See Those Tears

It's hard enough to hear your baby cry, but even harder when you have to do something that you KNOW will make him cry...and you will have to face that high-pitched screaming you hate so much. How can such a little person make such a loud noise, and make your heart just stop?

Well, yesterday was one of those days...when we knew the tears would come. And I would hear that screaming that makes me want to scream myself! We had to take our baby in for his shots. NOT FUN! But I think he handeled it really well. The nurses were great and did it as quickly as possible, and I got to hold his hands. I think he got over it about 2 min. after it was all over.

He was a bit fussy for the rest of the day, and for some reason his feeding schedule got a little off, but we are back on today. I'm proud of the little guy. I'll probably put his first bandaids in his baby book. Weird, I know.

Generic or Name Brand Diapers?

I have to say that over the last few months, I have tried many brands of diapers. Some were gifts and others we picked out. I found that the generic diapers are actually better at stopping leaks than the popular name brands! I didn’t like the Walmart brand at all, but White Cloud and Target rank at the top of my list...and they are cheaper than the name brands!

He has not gotten a diaper rash in the 8 weeks he has been wearing them either. That could also be because of the Arbonne baby care products we use. They are amazing, and worth every penny! I can do generic diapers, but I never want to put anything on my babies skin except Arbonne!

Happy New Year!

I have to say, that I never would have imagined the day would come when I rang in the new year with a mid-night feeding with my baby. I guess there is a first for everything.

I'm excited to see what 2006 has in store for us. Now that the holidays are over, it's time to get back into the swing of things. Traveling over the holidays disrupted some of our routines, but we had a great time with our family and friends!

My new years resolution?? Wherever I am or whatever I'm doing, I'm going to be completely there and in the moment. Life flies by too fast...I don't want to miss a second of it! Especially when it comes to my baby. He is growing up so fast, just like everyone said he would. I guess I understand a little better now why my mom and dad love me so much...but I guess you never understand that until you have kids of your own.

Make Thier Future Bright this Christmas

When I was a baby my dad gave me one of the best gifts he could give me for my financial future, and I didn't even know it until I turned 26.

Just after I was born my dad bought me a life insurance policy. In doing so secured in my rate about as low as it could ever be. He paid on it my entire life, and now at age 26 I have I have a policy in my name at a rate lower than I ever could have gotten now.

For my babies first Christmas gift I'm going to invest in his future the way my dad did for me. I believe they call that "paying it forward."

This Christmas, you can give your child's future a little more security in a not so secure world.

Merry Christmas!
